Entrepreneurial Ventures

Clearway· Founder

2021 – Present

·Designed and prototyped an electronic obstacle detection cane for visually impaired individuals; addresses the critical gap left by traditional white canes, which can sometimes miss certain obstacles.
·Handled product design, including custom-made components and circuits, as well as prototyping internally and with external manufacturers across the globe.
·Integrated an ultrasonic distance sensor, microcontroller, and haptic vibration motor into a standard cane form factor; device alerts users through handle vibration, requiring no app, screen, or Bluetooth. Implemented GPS technology to ensure user safety as seen in Exactech internship.
·Targeted at dense urban markets including Mumbai and Dubai, where above-ground hazards are prevalent; positioned as an affordable alternative to existing electronic mobility aids priced at INR 6,999 (~$75); planned pilots with schools for the blind and NGOs in India and the UAE.
·Conducted first pilot at Kamla Mehta School for the Blind in Mumbai — 100% would use again; 9/10 obstacle detection confidence; 9.3/10 feedback clarity; zero learning curve.
