Entrepreneurial Ventures

  • ·Designed and prototyped an electronic obstacle detection cane for visually impaired individuals; addresses the critical gap left by traditional white canes, which can sometimes miss certain obstacles.
  • ·Handled product design, including custom-made components and circuits, as well as prototyping internally and with external manufacturers across the globe.
  • ·Integrated an ultrasonic distance sensor, microcontroller, and haptic vibration motor into a standard cane form factor; device alerts users through handle vibration, requiring no app, screen, or Bluetooth. Implemented GPS technology to ensure user safety as seen in Exactech internship.
  • ·Targeted at dense urban markets including Mumbai and Dubai, where above-ground hazards are prevalent; positioned as an affordable alternative to existing electronic mobility aids priced at INR 6,999 (~$75); planned pilots with schools for the blind and NGOs in India and the UAE.
